More About Good Decisions

GDMT-cover107 About

In the title of this site and my book Good Decisions…Most of the Time, the word “good” is synonymous with “healthy.” Good Decisions doesn’t demonize any food, but simply clarifies which whole foods are nutrient-dense and increase health and wellbeing, and which foods lack nutrients or have been shown to contribute to disease.

Society often labels food as “bad” or “good” when in fact it is not “good” or “bad”, it is simply cause and effect. Fruits and vegetables for instance, tend to make us feel light and energetic, while refined foods and processed foods tend to make us feel heavy and lethargic. There is no good or bad, simply cause and effect.

I believe that when you make healthy decisions most of the time, the body is well enough equipped to handle the occasional indulgence. Because life really is too short not to have chocolate or red wine, or whatever your favorite treat may be.

All Healthy Recipes

You will not find any unhealthy recipes on this site. It is designed to be a reliable resource for healthy recipes, nutritional information, and  and other information regarding health and mindset.

Working with Dani

As a new client, your sessions are broken into two phases:

  • The Case Review and Initial Consultation
  • Ongoing consultations

Phase One: The Case Review and Initial Consultation

The Case Review serves several purposes. It enables Dani to review your case history thoroughly so that any recommendations she makes are based upon the whole picture of you. It gives you the chance to ask any questions you may have about your current health condition and what you should expect. It also provides an opportunity for us to get to know each other.

The Case Review and Initial Consult includes:

  • A 90 minute initial phone or video consult to gather information about your past history and conditions.
  • A thorough review of your medical history and relevant previous lab work.
  • A review of your current eating habits and nutritional supplements.
  • A detailed body systems assessment.
  • Evaluation of a food journal
  • A customized eating plan including supplements will be recommended.

You will be provided intake forms, a Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire and Food Journal paperwork to complete. It is important that you spend time and energy completing these intake forms, as they are vital in helping me understand your case. This paperwork includes:

  • A detailed health and medical history questionnaire
  • A survey of your chief complaints and most important health goals
  • An assessment of your most troubling and frequently experienced symptoms
  • A food journal and questionnaire
  • A survey of your current supplements and medications

Phase Two: Ongoing Treatment

Once the Initial Consultation is complete, you’ll have follow-up appointments. Dani believes in working with her clients from the very beginning and taking them all the way through completion of their goals. She will communicate with your primary health care provider as needed and coach you through strategies to help with implementation. She requires that you commit to 4 sessions initially and schedule follow up appointments as recommended.

Fees

  • Initial Consult: $295. Includes the 90-minute phone or video appointment.
  • Case Review and Customized Eating Plan: $610. Includes a detailed treatment plan with dietary, supplement, and lifestyle recommendations
  • 3 Regular Follow-ups: $240 each for 60 minutes

Total Fees: $1625

Testimonials

Danielle is a very knowledgeable wellness provider who takes the time to listen to her clients. She is very good at helping uncover nutritional deficiencies/sensitivities and recommends dietary alterations based on those deficiencies/sensitivities in order to achieve optimal health. I started seeing Danielle as a last ditch effort to try to manage my endometriosis by making lifestyle changes. Danielle helped me improve my overall health as well as helped me identify what foods were suppressing my immune system due to sensitivities. She opened my eyes to new ways of eating and helped me really understand just how important our dietary consumption is to our health. I am very thankful for all that she has taught me and I highly recommend her.

— Tammy, Client

“Like many women approaching forty, I found myself at a weight I wasn’t happy with, and rather than try all the fad diets I had tried before, I reached out to Dani and asked for help to manage my weight. But I didn’t realize that the help and tools she gave me were about much more than my weight. Yes, I lost weight by following the guidelines. But more importantly, she helped me discover how important the food is that we put in our bodies and how they make us feel. Here are some of the other rewards from following Dani: energy all day (no crashes), glowing skin, healthy hair, weight loss, regularity, etc… “Like all people, we try to make “good decisions…most of the time,” but when we stagger too far off course, both my husband and I will gravitate right back to our “Dani Diet” (as we called it), because we feel so good when we do. But even during those times of indulgence, we still implement changes from 2009 that will forever be a part of our eating plan.

— Wendy Miller, Client

I Joined Dani’s Sugar Detox Group in January of 2018 after hearing her speak the year before at a Wellness Retreat. The 30 day detox was not easy, but Dani’s support both emotionally and food wise made all the difference. Every week I received a shopping list and weekly menu so that I didn’t have to give what I was going to eat a second thought. She made it easy peasy. The food/recipes Dani gave us were yummy and I continue to use them to this day. My family really enjoyed them. I discovered new foods, tasty recipes and healthy eating. The first 8 days were hard as my body went through the sugar withdrawal and Dani was there encouraging me and coaching me through it. As the days went by it got easier and easier. The results were weight loss, but more importantly I have never felt better! I have more energy, clarity of thought, focus, and I sleep better.  I am committed to eating this way for life.
