French Onion Soup

Directions

Preheat oven 375°.

Melt butter in a Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic, ginger; sauté 5 minutes. Sprinkle onion with pepper. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook, uncovered, 30 minutes or until onion is golden, stirring frequently. Add bay leaves, thyme, broth and wine, bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer, partially covered, 30 minutes. Remove from heat and ladle into 6 bowels. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.
