The Perfect Soft Boiled Egg


1. Place eggs in a saucepan large enough to accommodate them in a single layer. Fill the pan with cold water, covering eggs so only ¼ inch of the tops of the eggs peak out above the water. Set the timer for 9 minutes. Set pan over medium-high heat, and bring to a boil. Continue to boil until timer goes off. Remove eggs from water, and run under cold water. Serve immediately. Season with salt and pepper
